Espanyol 3-2 Alavés: results, summary and goals
Espanyol returned to winning ways in dramatic style in La Liga by beating Deportivo Alavés 3-2 on Sunday (AEDT).
Substitute Wu Lei scored one goal and set up another in the final 10 minutes as Espanyol claimed only their second victory since the start of November.
Alavés had taken the lead through Pere Pons in the 37th minute but Espanyol equalised shortly after half-time through Yangel Herrera.
Joselu put the visitors back in front just after the hour mark but Wu's goals in the 81st and 87th minutes turned the game on its head.
Wu came on in the 70th minute and was involved in all three of Espanyol's goals, turning home a cross from Brian Olivan for the equaliser and then teeing up Sergi Darder for the winner.
The victory lifts Espanyol up to 13th in the La Liga standings, while Alavés remain 19th, two points from safety.
