Dream lose to Mystics, face must-win game Sunday

Atlanta Dream lose 87-83 to Washington Mystics

The Atlanta Dream lost 87-83 to the Washington Mystics on Friday night at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. The Dream are now 11-17 on the season and in ninth place in the WNBA standings. The Mystics are now 19-9 and in second place.

The Dream were led by Tiffany Hayes, who scored 23 points. Aari McDonald added 18 points, and Rhyne Howard scored 17 points.

The Mystics were led by Elena Delle Donne, who scored 25 points. Natasha Cloud added 19 points, and Myisha Hines-Allen scored 15 points.

Dream face must-win game Sunday

The Dream will face a must-win game on Sunday when they host the Dallas Wings at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia. The Wings are 10-18 on the season and in 10th place in the WNBA standings.

If the Dream win on Sunday, they will clinch a spot in the WNBA playoffs. If they lose, they will be eliminated from playoff contention.

Dream’s playoff hopes

The Dream’s playoff hopes are still alive, but they are fading. The Dream are now two games behind the eighth-place New York Liberty. The Liberty have three games remaining on their schedule, while the Dream have two.

The Dream will need to win both of their remaining games and hope that the Liberty lose at least one of their remaining games in order to make the playoffs.
